The picture doesn't do justice to the beauty of this bowl. I am lucky to have inherited a few teacups and bread plates that my parents received as a wedding present in the 1960's with gold edging. I love the new 1880 collection's return to this classic, traditional formal look. The bowl is much more sturdy, of course, than the original very thin Parian china. But this is an excellent combination of a more sturdy piece that has all of the elegance and formality of the earlier editions.
