I was given this lamp in 1993 by a lad from Omagh who stayed with us for the Ulster Project, Atlanta GA. It did not have US fittings, so I had it converted at a lamp shop, though they were unable to properly fit the linen shade. Nonetheless, I have used it with much fondness for all these years, despite the somewhat wobbly shade! I have always had a love for the Irish & Ulstermen, having been born on St. Patrick's Day & been best friends with 2 Fitzpatrick sisters. I am of English descent, with celtish blue eyes & blond hair.
I am trilled with the two beautiful lamps and shades. They just finish my bedside tables and complete the room. My Dad’s side of the family (both mother and father) ancestors were Irish. It’s like a have a small piece of Ireland with me. The craftsmanship is amazing on these lamps. Thank you.
I bought this very same lamp 17 years ago on a trip to Ireland and always regretted not buying two. When I saw that I could purchase it from Belleek in Ireland, I was very skeptical thinking it would not arrive in one piece. But I took the chance, and I am so glad I did. It arrived so perfectly packaged that it would only break if a truck fell on it. It is beautiful and perfect, and I am so happy that I now have two!
